BLACKSTAR NEWS:

November 2, 2009 - Fall is here and so is chopping season! Grandpa is driving the tractor with the chopper. Max is driving the tractor that is unloading the box, and Rod is directing speed and where to dump. We pile our silage and cover it with a tarp to keep the air out while it ferments. Normally we would have been chopping by the end of September, but this year the corn wasn't dry enough to start until a couple of weeks ago and then it started raining! We were fortunate to have had a couple of dry days to get most of it done before it got too muddy. We finished yesterday........ in time for deer hunting!

August 9, 2009 - Amy, Amber and Max worked hard at the Beltrami County Fair and it paid off with their winnings. Jamaica won Grand Champion, with Max at the halter. Amber won Showmanship in Dairy, and Reserve Showmanship in Swine. Amy recieved Reserve Champion with her cow Maggie. Thanks to everyone who came out and visted us. They will all be showing at the MN State Fair August 26th-30th so make sure to stop on by!
