BLACKSTAR DAIRY: THE CALCIUM ADVANTAGE!
Research has shown that the calcium in creamline milk is more readily absorbed by the body than the calcium in homogenized milk. Since 2 out of 3 kids don't get enough calcium, drinking creamline milk offers more benefits for growing bones and muscles. Recent research also indicates that the onset of osteoporosis is beginning at a younger age, due largely to the reduced intake of calcium, particularly in women and girls.
We offer our creamline milk in either natural "non-fortified" or vitamin A and D fortified varieties. Our "Non-Fortifed" milk is minimally processed and the closest you can get to "straight from the cow" freshness. This is also a good choice for some people who believe they are lactose intolerant, who may actually be reacting to the vitamin fortification.
THE BENEFITS OF "UNHOMOGENIZED" MILK |
|
|
We process our milk using low temperature pasteurization without the added step of homogenization. Research has indicated that the pressure of mechanical homogenization releases an enzyme that can lead to the build-up of cholesterol in the arteries and heart. Our milk has a"creamline" and should be shaken. The most effective way to thoroughly blend in the cream is to tip the bottle sideways and shake it back and forth.
